Wiring Diagram for CircleScout Pivot Control Module on Electric Pivots:
The Black (Hot) must receive constant 120VAC even when the pivot is not walking.
CircleScout Pivot Control Module LED Lights:
GREEN: Module has 120VAC power on the Black (120VAC Hot) and White (Neutral) wires
RED: Voltage detected on the Orange wire
BLUE: Normally Closed control relay on Blue wires is opened
YELLOW: Normally Open control relay on Red wires is closed
The Net Irrigate CircleScout Pivot Control Module and 4G LTE Modem operate together to provide a remote control start/stop interface for center pivot irrigation systems over the 4G LTE communications network.
The CircleScout Control Module operates on 120 VAC. AC power must be supplied continuously to the CircleScout Control Module so that remote commands from the 4G LTE modem can be received.
The BLACK WIRE (120VAC) and WHITE WIRE (neutral) provide 120 VAC to the CircleScout Control Modem. Connect the black and white wires in the pivot enclosure to a 120 volt source so that the Circle Scout Control Modem is powered when the pivot panel is ‘ON’. A GREEN LED will illuminate inside the CircleScout Control Module when AC power is applied.
The CircleScout Control Module contains two control relays that are used to start and stop the pivot.
The BLUE WIRES provide a contact for a Normally Closed (NC) control relay used to STOP the pivot. This control relay should be connected in series with the safety circuit of the pivot. When this relay is energized it will ‘open’ the normally closed contact, interrupt the safety circuit and stop the pivot. A BLUE LED will illuminate inside the Circle Scout Control Module when this relay is energized.
The RED WIRES provide a contact for a Normally Open (NO) control relay used to START the pivot. This control relay should be connected in parallel with the start button of the pivot. When this relay is energized it will ‘close’ the normally open contact and start the pivot. A YELLOW LED will illuminate inside the Circle Scout Control Module when this relay is energized.
Both control relays are operated remotely through the 4G LTE Modem. They are programmed to operate as momentary relays. The contacts are energized for 5-20 seconds after a start or stop command is received from the 4G LTE modem. (The contact holding time is determined and set by Net Irrigate depending on the specific pivot type and application.)
The ORANGE WIRE in the CircleScout Control Module is used to send a return message to indicate that the pivot is operating. This acts as a ‘Pilot Circuit’. It can be connected to the percent timer circuit or other 120 VAC source that is ‘ON’ when the pivot is operating. The orange pilot circuit will operate at any voltage between 12 and 250 volts. A RED LED will illuminate inside the Circle Scout Control Module when the pilot circuit is energized.
When power is supplied to the CircleScout Control Module the 4G LTE Modem will turn on and establish a cell tower connection. When the connection has been made the green LED on the 4G LTE Modem will flash once every second. The red LED will remain ON.
